About me

When I was 12 a passion for the music of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who and other rock and roll legends drove me to guitar. I spent most of high school leading bands, and by the time I graduated I was hooked for life.

I completed an Associate of Arts in Music at Cabrillo College in 2012. There, I studied jazz improvisation and arranging with the phenomenal jazz arranger and trumpet player Ray Brown. I also took classes in classical guitar, music theory, and vocal performance.

In 2012 I transferred to the William Paterson University of New Jersey to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar Performance. I studied privately with Gene Bertoncini and Paul Meyers and performed in small group jazz ensembles under the direction of professors Mulgrew Miller, Harold Mabern, Gene Bertoncini, and Bill Goodwin. Being close to New York meant I got to hear some of the best players in the world. From 2014 to 2015 I taught at Serrano’s Academy in Belleville, New Jersey, and became their most sought-after guitar teacher.

In 2015 I moved back to the west coast with the aim of bringing the distinct flavor of New York Swing to the people of the Bay Area. But my love of rock and roll has not diminished! I love demonstrating a 12-bar blues as much as I love analyzing the harmony of a bebop tune.

These days I teach, run sound for a number of high profile clubs in Santa Cruz County, and gig all over California and the United States, most notably as the bass player for the band Wolf Jett.
